Created as an outdoor park and railroad museum that all could enjoy, the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park offers many activities and exhibits to its visitors. Most popular is the 5/12 scale Paradise and Pacific Railroad, which carries passengers through the park on its mile-long track, although the Scottsdale Charro Carousel is highly popular with young children and the museum exhibits within the park's Baggage Car are preferred by adult enthusiasts. While largely focused on displaying items related to the railroad, the museum also two authentic Navajo hogans, a type of traditional residence, and a xeriscape garden demonstrating desert-friendly plants. The northern Scottsdale attraction rests beside McCormick Ranch Golf Club, near the border of the town of Paradise Valley.
